“Fauno Urban Resort has a singular appeal: a stay within the historic Villa Varlonga, redesigned in the '60s, where temporary art galleries offer unexpected recreation. I noted the unfortunate report of a past guest that the rooms are not as pictured, and a bathroom was not properly cleaned. The resort's proximity to the Colosseum and its seasonal pool provide strong counterpoints, and I hope these are points that the hotel management addresses.”

the staff were friendly and helpful. my suite was generous and comfortable. the swimming pool set in its shady leafy garden was a wonderful amenity. breakfast every morning was a generous and diverse continental.
the shower was a little rustic though. the hot water was not always on, and the air conditioning was not good. the resort gives the impression that the hotel guests are able to control the thermostat, but in actuality, the front desk controls the temperature on their computer.

Adequate stay with minor issues

central locationgood breakfasthelpful staffneglected exteriormaintenance issuesdamp walls
The location was perfect. I found it very central but quiet. Breakfast offered a lovely array of food and a very good service. All the staff members were helpful .
The exterior of the hotel was a bit neglected. My room also seemed to have some maintenance issues. I noticed some damp walls, and the paint had peeled off in some areas.

malfunctioning air conditioninglimited breakfast
The air conditioning barely functioned, and I definitely mentioned it to the front desk, but nothing changed. The room felt stuffy the entire time. I found strands of hair in the shower drain. Plus, the breakfast selection was quite limited. There were only a few pastries and some fruit available. I guess I expected more variety.
